Dr. Muftisaadat Farooqi was born in Kashmir in India and completed his medical school from Government Medical School Kashmir (India) in 1987. Between 1987 and 1992 the doctor completed his medical internship and also served as a physician in remote under served areas in Kashmir. In 1992 Dr. Farooqi moved to Long Island, NY and worked as a research fellow. The research involved the study of the role of Oxidant Stress on bacterial adherence to respiratory epithelial cells. From 1995 to 1998 Dr. Farooqi completed his residency in New York. From 1998 to 1999 Dr. Farooqi completed his fellowship program in Hepatology at the Alton Oscher Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana.  In 1999 Dr. Farooqi moved to Los Angeles to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology from USC Medical Center. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Farooqi started as a Gastroenterologist with Kaiser Permanente at California. After about three years Dr Farooqi started his solo practice as  Digestive & Liver Disease Medical center at our current location at Gastroenterology and Hepatology. With more than 15  years of experience Dr. Farooqi has extensive knowledge of the gastrointestinal and hepatic anatomy and physiology.

We work closely with several hospitals so that every patient has easier access to the procedures they require. These hospitals include Saint Agnes Medical Center, Community Regional Medical Center Fresno, Community Regional Medical Center Clovis and Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital.
