Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)

​An Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is a noninvasive procedure to examine the lining of your esophagus, stomach, and part of your small intestine to look for any abnormalities. A flexible tube with a tiny camera, called an endoscope, is used to monitor the upper GI system and at times, can be use to treat certain conditions or take biopsies of the esophagus or stomach..

Colonoscopy

A Colonoscopy is a noninvasive test that every patient above the age of 50, or sooner in some cases, should get done. A long, flexible tube called a colonoscope is used to examine the large intestine or colon, for small tumors called polyps. During the procedure, the physician will examine the lining of the colon and if needed may take samples, called biopsies, to perform exams. 

Endoscopic-Retrograde-Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)​

​An Endoscopic-Retrograde-Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), is a specialized Endoscopic procedure that goes deeper into the gastrointestinal system to examine the papilla of Vater, bile ducts and gallbladder and pancreatic ducts. Like the other procedures, this test utilizes a special scope called a Duodenoscope that will be used by the physician to examine ducts and may perform treatments if necessary during the procedure. 

Esophageal Manometry Study

An Esophageal Manometry is an exam that is performed by a registered nurse which is then read by the doctor to determine if there is any abnormalities in the esophagus function. This procedure is used to examine the pressure of your esophagus and to observe the movement they produce to move food into your stomach. Normally done for patients with difficulty swallowing, this test is also used as a screening for many patient seeking to get weight loss surgery.

FibroScan

 A FibroScan is a special ultrasound test we perform in our office for patients with a number of liver conditions used to test the degree of stiffness in the liver which may indicate damage or fat present in the liver. The procedure is painless and noninvasive and helps the physician assess your current liver status.
